About Our Practice

Since our beginning in 1978, Pediatric Eye Care of Maryland (originally known as Dankner Eye Associates) has been recognized as a leader in the treatment of children’s eyes. We also see adults, which you can read more about here. Our approach to the treatment and care for you or your child is a team approach. Drs. Fiergang and Andorsky are board certified ophthalmologists, fellowship-trained in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus. Our eye team also includes optometrists, orthoptists and opticians all with extra experience working with children. Above all, we are committed to providing complete, compassionate, and timely eye care to our patients.

Over the years, to better serve our patients’ vision needs, we have embraced new ideas, technology and techniques. Often, conservative therapy such as prisms and orthoptic exercises is all that is needed, which is why our team also includes orthoptists, optometrists and opticians all with extra experience working with these complex issues.

We are proud of our community work and sponsorship of vision projects at the Baltimore Zoo, National Aquarium, and Maryland Science Center. We have enjoyed presenting educational sessions regarding pediatric and adult eye care at various schools, organizations, and governmental bodies as well as actively participating with many public and private organizations dedicated to vision issues.
